Applying for Certification

If you have completed a UAS School of Education program that results in teacher certification or endorsement you must complete the following:

1. Register at TEACH AK here with a permanent email address. Follow these instructions for account setup and login.

2. Start a New Application and refer to the blue link for descriptions of different certification types

3. If unsure of which application to use, call DEED at (907) 465-2831 for clarification before proceeding.

4. Enter personal information and proceed through each tab. Ensure you hit "Save" and then "Save & Next" to continue to the next tab.

5. Endorsement Request Section - Please send an email request to uas.soedeed@alaska.edu asking for a State-Approved Program Verification form for your TEACH AK application. When making the request please put your Name, Date of Birth, and your UA student ID number in the email. Note that you will recieve the completed form after your degree has been posted and the form has been processed.

6. Education Section - After your degree has been awarded, request official electronic transcripts to be sent to your email address. Then you will upload the transcript and original email to TEACH AK or request that the electronic transcripts go directly to DEED tcwebmail@alaska.gov.

7. After completing all sections and ensuring each has a green check, proceed to the Affirmation, sign it electronically, then submit.

8. Monitor your application status through your TEACH AK account.
