Office of Equity & Compliance

The UAS Office of Equity and Compliance promotes a working and learning environment free of discrimination, including harassment and violence, and leads a focused effort to build inclusive systems at UAS.

Title IX

Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits sex discrimination in education. All members of the university community and visitors have the right to be free from all forms of gender and sex-based discrimination, including sexual violence, sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.

Other Prohibited Discrimination (Title VII/ADA)

The University of Alaska Southeast protects employee and students from discrimination based on race, religion, color, sex, and national origin. A person may not be discriminated against based on certain characteristics. Everyone has protection of these state and federal anti-discrimination laws.

Clery Act

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act (commonly known as the Clery Act) is a federal consumer protection law that requires institutions of higher education in the United States to disclose campus security information including crime statistics for the campus and surrounding areas.

Protection of Minors

Protection and safety of minors are of the highest priority for the University of Alaska. The University of Alaska Southeast promotes and engages in many programs, events, and activities that include our under-18 community members.
