Fischer’s fascinating life is the subject of his book To Russia with Love, an autobiography that touches on the roles of his activist-writer parents in his life, his experiences in World War II, his role as a delegate to the Alaska Constitutional Convention and other government appointments, and his continuing relationship with Russia.

In the fourth slam of Woosh Kinaadeiyí's third season, Juneau's spoken word artists will come together to do battle in the friendliest competition in town. Starting in the coming academic year (Fall2013-Spring2014), the UAS Hecla Greens Creek Environmental Science Scholarship fund will award two $1,500 scholarships annually to qualified students enrolled in the Environmental Science degree program with Junior or Senior class standing.
