The Associate of Applied Science in Health Sciences provides foundational healthcare knowledge, skills, and behaviors for graduates to obtain employment in healthcare-related positions, continue education in a professional health program, or enhance development of those who are employed in healthcare settings.

This degree serves as a strong basis for comprehending the current state of healthcare delivery, encompassing essential general courses along with a scientific core. By completing this
degree, students are prepared to advance their education in diverse professional healthcare and allied health programs. Students should meet with an advisor to select the emphasis that aligns with their career goals.

Medical Assisting

Medical Assistants are multiskilled health professionals specifically educated to work in a variety of healthcare settings performing clinical and administrative duties.

Behavioral Health

Prepare for a career as a behavioral health worker or community pathfinder in various settings. Screen for and develop appropriate entry-level plans for mental illness and substance use disorders.

Medical Coding

Focus on coding and classification systems at the inpatient and outpatient level. Students obtain entry-level skills in healthcare coding with national coding credentialing exams available.
