The symposium program will be posted here once it is available.

Pre-symposium excursion

Join us as we explore world-famous Glacier Bay National Park and learn about the effects that the Little Ice Age (LIA) advance and Post-LIA retreat have had on indigenous inhabitants and on local and regional terrain and ecosystems.

Social events

We have arranged an icebreaker reception, short afternoon trip to nearby Mendenhall Glacier, and a mid-week excursion to Tracy Arm that will be followed by a banquet at Orca Point Lodge.

The symposium is being organized by researchers at the University of Alaska Southeast, University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the National Park Service, and the scientific steering committee consists of a diverse range of researchers from around the world.
