Course Reserves
Allows faculty to designate course reading materials to be held at the library to ensure equitable access by students. Reserve materials are held at the Circulation Desk. Please allow for processing time by bringing in your materials and submitting forms at least ONE WEEK PRIOR to informing students that they will be available (processing time may be longer for items brought in after semester begins).
Share and Preserve your Work
Preserve your scholarly work in ScholarWorks@UA.
ScholarWorks@UA is University of Alaska's institutional repository, created to share research and other scholarly work by UA faculty, students, and staff. In it you will discover a growing number of papers, publications, archival collections, dissertations, theses, and more!
Why share my work in a repository?
Adding your work to a digital repository like ScholarWorks@UA helps make sure your work is openly available, accessible, and preserved in a stable place — whether it’s a slide deck, syllabi, article preprint, or related documents.
In a repository, your academic work will generally receive:
- A stable URL, called a handle, which you can share with others or post to social media, your personal website, and more. You won’t have to worry about broken links, or migrating and re-posting your work to a new web page if you move to a new institution.
- Indexing by Google and Google Scholar, which makes your work more discoverable by others around the world.
- Statistics about usage and engagement with your work, including download counts and alternative metrics.
When you move your scholarship out from behind paywalls and preserve it for the future, you may find that your research profile is elevated as your works become more discoverable.
Submit your work here to be archived in a UAS ScholarWorks collection, or contact Jennifer Ward with any questions.
