Campus Kickoff 2022

  • LOCATION CHANGE: You may have noticed we're anticipating high winds and several inches of rain during tomorrow's event. Out of safety for everyone involved, we're moving the event indoors. The event will be located in the Egan Library and Egan Classroom Wing.
  • We are thrilled to announce The Royal Wedding Band will be performing LIVE at the Campus Kickoff! Tell your friends and come join us to welcome students to UAS and the Juneau community!
  • Food will be available for purchase by our Dining Services. Students will be able to purchase using their Whale Card.

Looking for more info?

Students, faculty, staff, and Juneau community are invited to attend. Large event activities will require a UAS student I.D. in order to participate. Lastly, minors attending should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Want to get involved, but with a low-key commitment? We're looking for volunteers to help with setup and take-down of the event. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt, snacks and beverages during, and the opportunity to take part in the largest involvement fairs on campus. Register today.

UAS students can win an exlusive campus kickoff t-shirt just by participating in the event! Simply show up on Friday, September 2 and check in with the SAB booth. Our student leaders will provide you with more info on how to maximize your time at the kickoff.

*The first 100 students to submit a selfie with their favorite booth to UASEngage (or via email to uas.sab@alaska.edu) will receive an exclusive campus kickoff t-shirt.

What's included:

  • Each registered group will be allotted a 10'x10' space at the event. Please make a special request on the registration form if you feel your group needs more room than this. We will do our best to accommodate.
  • Please supply your own table, chairs, and tent. For tent rental information you can contact Melissa McCormick, with AK Event Design.
  • No table skirts will be provided.

FYI:

  • Two representatives are required to attend and no table should be left unattended at any point during the event.
  • Placement options at the event will be given in order of priority.
  • A placement map will be emailed to each group, at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
  • If you plan to give out coupons or samples please be aware that we expect over 300 participants in attendance.
